Caught Up

^ a very very good Usher song that I've been listening to lately, and also, an explanation for why I haven't blogged in a while. But now I'll catch all of you up.

I don't know where to start, other than this fine Easter break. So...Friday, our first day off, I spent doing my English essay. Look who actually didn't procrastinate this time, huh? It only took me a little over an hour and I have 1,943 words. Impressive huh? Especially when the limit was 1,700...but that's ok. It'll make up for those people who don't have it done yet. Good luck to all of you by the way, if you haven't finished it already. So, that was my afternoon and then at 11:00, after some confusion, Daneel called me and I went and picked her up from Ali's house. I had been talking to Clay all day and he and Boo wanted us to go over there when Dee called, and so, at 12:00, we got to Clay's house. Then us 4 went for coffee (poor sick Boo) and then, it being Clayton and all, decided to go for a random drive. So what we did was, we left Tim Horton's and drove straight....for a very long time. We went WAY out of Edmonton, tossed coins to see which ways to turn, listened to amazing music, found the Alberta Train Museum (just in case you were curious), found Edmonton's very own Taj Mahal, I kid you not, got to the Army Base, and, the crème de la crème - found the Maximum Security Prison, were inside its gates for 30 seconds, got pulled over by the security guards ( "We're looking for Edmonton. I guess we're at prison") and then finally found our way back to the city of champions. This excursion took 2 hours. It was amazing. Oh and we chased a dog with the car. Hilarious, but I was worried about the dog.
The next day, Daneel and I went to the hair salon and 3 hours later (yeah...3 hours...so sorry Dee but you rock) I had this new rockin' hair. I'll take a picture and maybe Dee will put it up on here for you to see. I love it. After that, I went to a party, then to Oh Susanna (not that funny but I got to see my One and Boo again), then Jay and I went back to the party and had a rockin' time. Jay got drunk FINALLY and Dee did too. I was DD again but the party was really fun this time so it was all good. Jay slept over, which takes us to Sunday....
I woke up at 1:30...Jay woke up at 10:30, after I told him that he should wake me up when he gets up! Anyways, I finally go downstairs, my mom makes us an amazing omelets and then we watched The Incredibles, which ROCKED. So so good I highly recommend it. The rest of the day was filled with doing absolutely nothing, which was great. We sat around and watched TV and ate and slept (well ONE of us anyways...*cough* Jay *cough*), took Nikki for a walk, then watched Crazy/Beautiful which was REALLY good surprisingly. Very compelling and addicting. That brings us to today...where I slept until 12:00, went to school for an hour and a bit, didn't work on our tap project, came home and attempted to work on my essay but got in a bad mood because of too many essays, learned my stuff for Ragtime (our next school show. you should all come) and then watched Summerland. Jesse Mcarthy. Wow. Yep...next hottest thing ever. A very attractive man I must say. Then I had a shower and now I'm here, finally blogging.

That was my Easter.
No chocolate for me.
But that's ok.
Because I'm Jewish.

And Wha-Happens?

I am just about to head out for a 9 hour sleep. That's right bih-chuzz.

Alright so tomorrow is the "opening" day for our Chekhov's, and what better way to usher in 2 straight days of Chekovian lifestyle than with Wild Honey? Well the other option would be Cherry Orchard, which I'm sure is smashing. But, speaking from experience, Wild Honey is the best Chekhov play I've ever acted in. (think about it).
Today at rehearsal, we did a cue to cue, hung some drapes, got dust ALL in the air, worked out transitions, thanks to a certain Sofya and her certain Jewish music, then we did our show as if it were an old radio broadcast. We were up in Rm. 266 and took a spoon, hung it from the ceiling and proceeded to talk into it as though it were a mic. It went really well! The run was hilarious and we shaved another 15 minutes off of the play. Crazy stuff. All giggles though...especially when the cast members who are double cast got to say their lines at the same time. There is nothing like facing off with 2 Platonovs or 2 Anna Petrovnas (Platonoi and Petrovnoi, if you will), and then hearing 2 Osips be DOUBLE as creepy. The run was amazing, but I just wish that we could have actually been able to run the play in the lab with the new configurations and the curtains. It'll be fun trying to do entrances in the dark, let me tell you.
Alright, all this blogging is taking away from my sleeping.
Omg, sleep.

My One and Boo I'll see you both tomorrow and I'm so excited!!
Dee Dee, break a leg baby. I know you will. NO LAUGHING. (Piss).
Jay, I am so excited to see you take the stage. I'll be the one sleeping. (J/k but a pat on the back for me).

I think I can.
I think I can.
I think I can.
(You'll get it more when you see the play).
Not scared, just excited.
2 shots. Bring it, dutch blitches.

It Ain't Necessarily So

Long day, but overall very good day.
Movement project, performing Frank's with my music, a nice touch I thought. It went over very well and I was happy with it. I am also happy to be done with it. Then to the mall to get Cole a very attractive pin stripe suit with an even more so attractive light pink shirt and awesome tie (courtesy of yours truly). Then back for some Dutch Bitchz (I won once then quit), some debate listening, a Mango Peach Fruizzi and sharing time, then photocopying music, figuring out my English paper and hanging out until rehearsal. Then came rehearsal.
New paragraph. It needs it. Everything was going hunky dory, I suppose, even though I really felt like we were flat-lining. So we're trotting along until Act 4. For those of you who are curious, Chekhov plays have 4 acts, rather than scenes split up between 2 acts. No, this does not mean that the play is twice as long, because each act is around 15 minutes (because we rock). Anyways, going to the 4th act, the one where I start with my huge shpiel and then more and more people show up to harass Platonov. It's going along, not all that well but not all that terrible, when finally Ken gets me to run in on the scene with Platonov and Anna Petrovna to start yelling at Platonov for cheating on me because Ken didn't feel that the scene was being played that way. So I ran in, did so, and then came the HUGE HUGE lecture, the verbal beating of Blake on how to do it better and what he was doing wrong, as well as what I was doing wrong and what Daneel was doing wrong and how there was no energy anywhere. It went on for honestly 15 minutes. Just talking, and yelling, and banter and cursing. Not fun. Then came the 5 minute breather, and the beginning of the 4th act again. Let me tell you, it's the best it's ever been played. Ken praised all of us so highly for it (gave me the "pow") and said that the women truly owned that act. I agree. Well done ladies. Sorry about the gun Daneel but it's nothing personal. (PS Ali really fought me for it. I was so scared. She's effin strong). So scary yet very rewarding first rehearsal. The second was filled with TONS of laughter at the end of the 2nd act which was amazing ("DOH!") and lots of energy throughout. Well done overall. Stinky room though. Not a fan.
Alright that's a ton of blabbering and I need to be in bed right now.
Hey best friend. Way to show up on the radar maps again ; )
One, I love you so much.
Mattathaius, Boo, compare black death.
Dinkle, I love you so much girly. I'll bring the panyhose if you Whitemud my No Parking Ave.
Jay Jay, I've lost you. Where are you?

P.S.>

Wild Honey:
1:00pm on this coming Saturday.
8:00pm on this coming Sunday.
It was originally 2:00pm but it got changed because the 2nd years have rehearsal.

The info for my last "just in case..." was from Jason.
But I figured out the 80.64 hours.
Yeah scientific calculator.
It has more uses than collecting dust in my drawer.

Let Me Entertain You

Alright so I haven't blogged in almost a week, but that's because everything has been so crazy busy around here lately. All those that are reading this either totally understand because you're in the same boat, or you understand because I have been talking to you about it and have been unable to see you because of it. Don't get me wrong...rehearsals are so awesome and the play is really coming together so so well, even though it's not quite a jet engine boeing 747 yet, but it will be soon enough. Energy, cues and not ending the play on every line. All will fall into place. And the plane will take off. I have faith.

Tomorrow for rehearsal we're playing a game with a ball. What happens is, the cast stands in a huge circle and one person throws a ball up into the air in the middle of the circle. Then, whoever has the next line has to run into the centre, catch the ball, say the line, throw the ball back into the air, and run back to form the circle. If the ball is dropped, no matter where we are in the play, we go back to the beginning. Yep. Good thing I'm not scared. ( "Going?" "Tonight" "Forever?" "Forever"....that scene should be interesting). I know my lines like the back of my hand, but you have to be on your toes because the ball cannot drop. Please God I hope we don't have to do it in character shoes. I can barely stop when I'm running...the back wall comes in handy for that.

Congrats to all the 2nd years for such amazing "Cabarettes"...(the Du-ays were amazing) (silent "T"). I'm so excited for ours next year. Holy smokes. Lots of ideas going around.

Well, this insipid little ninny needs to get her sleep. So effin exhausted it's stupid.
Not enough Clayton to go around. I miss you baby.
And I miss all of those at school that I never get to see anymore. It's odd, spending 6 days a week with you and then not seeing any of you at all anymore. (Jaysen). I'll see you all soon though.

There are 168 hours in a week.
We are at school for 48% of that time.
Yep that's right.
We're in school for 80.64 hours a week.
We should get paid overtime.
Dedication, bih-chuzz.
Dedication.
Just in case you were curious.

What? Not Good Enough For You?

Now c'mon guys. I posted my last post a few days ago and I didn't get any comments. That's rather new for me. I'm not a fan. I guess it just wasn't interesting enough, or I guess that all of us spend pretty much every waking hour with each other now a days so we don't really need to comment all that much on each other's blogs. Yeah, that could be true. But drop me a line, or a dime, or both and tell me how you are.
Go Wild Honey-ians for being so well off book on the first run through. Today was a bit harder but that's because we're focusing on the blocking now so we'll all get thrown. Yeah 10 days until we perform. 10. Oy vey.
Clay is finally home. What a crazy assed drunken Saturday THAT was. Dee thank you so much for being the best "Dee Dee" (if you will) and for taking us all safely home. Holy crap I haven't been drunk like that for a while. Happy 18th Pauley. Welcome home, baby. It's so crazy to think of you being here and me not being able to see you at all. But thank GOD you're so understanding with it all. I'm extremely lucky to have you, you know. And you actually getting what I'm going through makes it so much easier. Theatre is life, huh? Yeah, it sure as hell seems that way right now. I'm so glad you can see what's going on and have patience with me. Some people don't. We know that now. And some things just end shittily because they don't get it. But you do. I'm rambling. I love you.

Another long and tedius rehearsal tomorrow. I'm excited actually. It's fun. Yet draining.

I'm exhausted.
I'm eating Doritos.
I'm getting powdered cheese on the keys.
The keys of Daneel's plaque.
(Teeth, not trophy).

"Too Much Chekhov"

Mayzie's back, bih-chuzz and she's all clean and sparkling and has a new windshield and a new steering column and a new back left window...and let me tell you that that huge GASH on the side of her (courtesy of yours truly and a pole) has never been more evident. Wow. That sure as hell wasn't a little bump. I don't know what they did to her but she's never been this shiny EVER, so that scratch is just kicking my ass every time I look at it. *cough* I mean the car theives must have taken some huge brick and smashed it into the side of my car because I sure never would cause that much damage to Mayzie...twice...
And holy eff, I am so completely drained, and I'm positive that all of the other first years are feeling my pain. Well I know that my fellow Wild Honey---ians are feeling the pain for sure, but I'm sure you crazy Orchard folks are getting beaten up too. Holy crap I love rehearsal though. Well, I love it now because Ken hasn't yelled at me yet. And that's always a bonus. Our cast is so rockin' and I'm so glad that it's made up of who it is. I wouldn't change anything. Well, one thing, but lack of respect just seriously gets to me. Yeah, HUGE lack of respect displayed today which seriously pissed me, and a lot of other people off. Generosity. That should be in everyone's vocabulary, especially if they're actors. It's imperative.

Clay is coming home tomorrow and it hasn't even sunk in yet. It will sink in when I see him though, even though I don't know when that will be. Crazy non-schedule.

Cuff and Balzer! Aaron, I got your message at 12:30 last night because my phone is effed up, and I couldn't even call you guys back. I'm so sorry I missed your call, I would have loved to go for ice cream and hang out! I was so mad when I realized that I had missed it. I'll see you guys in a week, and we'll have a raincheck. : )

So completely drained. Baah. Juries are coming up. Holy effer. And movement proejects. Seriously, who's worked on them? Anyone? Nope, didn't think so. Man oh man...THIS is what the 2nd years meant when they said that 2nd semester is death. Man are they right.

Wild Honey.
Approx time:
over 2 and a half hours.
We cut some lines.
A lot of lines.
Really, a lot of lines.
Now it's time to memorize.
Again.
Just in case you were curious.

Why Haven't You....Done Better?

A little question I've asked myself today. Nothing today seemed to really be completely 100% on, except for our rehearsal today, I felt really good about that. But movement class hurt like a mother, I was shaking like a leaf (so was everyone...holy smokes so hard) and Tap class stepped it up a notch which I love but I kept getting picked on by the teacher to make things more accented...which is a good thing I think because I have the steps down flat but she just wanted me to make them more musical...fine tuning so that's kind of good. But still, it was more than usual...and ballet today. Well I can end it there. Ballet. Ouch feet.
Hooray for rehearsals and little visits at the window! I couldn't do anything about it but I wished I could have. Bah. I wish. Hopefully I'll see you SOMETIME while you're here because that would just be stupid if I didn't.
Clay comes home in less than a week, bih-chuzz.
I just finished a crap-tastic essay for Play Analysis, but it's over and done with and that's ok because I usually get awesome marks, so this one shouldn't pull me down too badly.
Anyways, today just mostly felt like a "why haven't you done better" kind of day, even though it was an awesome day besides the dance classes and this stupid essay.
Rehearsal rocks. I just don't care that we're there until 10:00. It's so much damn fun. I love it.

Yep, that's my ravings for tonight.

Got a spiffy coffee cup.
It's from Starbucks.
I'm going to put a coffee in it tomorrow.
Grande non-fat caramel macciatto.
Crazy Rachel, huh?
Getting the same drink as always.
I like the caramel frappuccinos too.
Just in case you were curious.

One Thin Dime Won't Even Shine Your Boobs

Thus endeth reading week.

Here I sit in my favorite shirt....Backstreet Boys from their 1998 Backstreet's Back tour (which I went to, bih-chuzz). Yep, on the back of the shirt, it shows their backs as they're bowing infront of an audience and it says Backstreet's Back. Clever huh? Their backs and the catch phrase. Clever. I miss them when they were good. 1998 was kind of a long time ago, but it doesn't feel like it at all. It doesn't feel like 2005...mind you, I don't know what 2005 should feel like.
Blabbering.
Who watched the Oscars? Anyone? I was happy with some of the results (go Kate Blanchett). It's weird though, I used to be a huge fan of the Oscars and the Grammy's but I just didn't have time to watch them today, which I wished I had. Definitley have barely started my essay. But my lines are memorized and I have some verbing done and I know my superobjective. So that's good. I'd rather stay up really late and finish the essay than suffer the wrath of Ken Brown.
I saw Saw last night and it was really creepy. Not scary, just twisted and creepy. Big doll riding a tricycle. The doll looked like a clown. But an effed up one. I wasn't such a fan of that little escapade. Idunno why I just said escapade but it's a good word.
Not really much to blog about.
Welcome home Dee Dee!
See you tomorrow (hopefully) Cuffer, Balzer and Check. I hate to say it but I just don't know when free time is going to come about this week, but we'll make something work. I am still without my Mayz, but I'll hopefully get her back soon.

Neesa,
Chekhov is a very famous Russian playwright.
Cuff's monologue was from one of his plays.
His plays are confusing,
some are boring, some are funny.
All of the characters have at least 3 names.
They're all about people aspiring to a better life.
We're performing 2 of his plays at school.
Mine's funny.
The other is not.
So you should come and see the one I'm in.
Just in case you were curious.
